Privacy Policy

Your privacy is our top priority. Here's how we protect your data.

No External Database Storage

At PsychWell, we fundamentally value your privacy. Unlike many other applications, we do not use a central database server to store your personal journal entries, mood logs, or private thoughts.

Your data is stored locally on your own device, acting exactly like a personal physical diary that only you possess. We believe your mental health journey is private, and it should stay that way.

Local-First Architecture

All your sensitive information—including your daily logs, sentiment analysis results, and assessment scores—is saved directly in your browser's local storage or your device's file system. This means:

  • We cannot access your personal data.
  • We cannot sell your data to third parties.
  • Your data remains in your control at all times.

Future-Ready Security

While our current version operates entirely locally, we are committed to maintaining this high standard of privacy as we evolve. Any future integration of server-side features (e.g., for cross-device sync) will be built upon:

  • End-to-End Encryption: Ensuring that only you hold the keys to decrypt your data.
  • Zero-Knowledge Architecture: Even if we store encrypted data, we will not have the technical ability to read it.
  • Self-Hosting Options: Allowing advanced users to integrate their own private servers.

AI Processing

To provide AI insights and "digital therapist" features, anonymous text snippets may be processed by our AI partners (like Mistral AI). However, this data is transient and is not used to train their models or stored permanently. We strip personally identifiable information before any processing occurs to ensuring your identity remains protected.
